HOTEL "FIFTY SIXTY" CURIO collection by HILTON
OMSK, UL. SHCHERBANEVA 20 | CONCEPT
The hotel is organized on the basis of the reconstruction of the building, formed from two parts of the late 50s and early 60s.
The first four-story volume was built in 1957. The stylistics of his architecture bears the features of the "Stalinist Empire" style in a stripped-down form, the fight against "architectural excesses".
In 1962, the second five-storey part was built and the superstructure was made on the fifth floor of the first volume. The architecture of this part of the building is completely modernist and has obvious references to the constructivism of the twenties. Thus, despite the difference in construction time of parts of only 5 years, one building combines two architectural styles that clearly illustrate two epochs in the development of the country: the 50s, which began under Stalin, and ended with a serious revision of his legacy, and 60 -s, for which the concept of "thaw" is firmly entrenched.
Such, in many contrasting, difference of styles and epochs was comprehended during the formation of the hotel's "legend" and is the basis of its design. In this regard, "50/60" or "fifty / sixty", "fifty sixty" is proposed as the name of the hotel. Thus, the dates of birth of the building are fixed, and starting from the international concept "fifty / fifty" an association arises that "with all things being equal, you will get more in our hotel."
